Morning Constitution

I have a nice morning 6km walk/run. I live in the mountains overlooking Beirut and the terrain is far from ideal as I ramp up my training, but I enjoy this walk a lot. I hope that soon I will enjoy running it too...

I don't much enjoy the uphill part of my walk, but once I have got up to the top it all seems worth it.

I may not be fast, but I follow all the preparation routines of an Olympic athlete.

My coach and running partner insists on that preparation. She is still a little faster than me, but I am fast catching up...

A Larger Lady and a Marathon

Sunday April 22nd 2012 is the big day. There is no going back now, the training has started - and I mean actual running, not just reading how best to do the running - and the fundraising has begun. I don't know what possessed me, I think an awareness that I will be 30 in September and that I really do want to shift these pounds, and raise plenty of money for charity (obviously).

I still can't really run very far without collapsing into a red, sweaty, heaving mess, and I still don't really enjoy the act of running, but I am determined. I know that I do want to do this and I do want to do it without risking serious injury or major public humiliation so I really need to get going now.
